Micah Baseball Myth & Mysteries

The Baseball Myth, Updated
The myth was and remains: Temple Micah’s baseball team plays in Chicago.
The previous version of this story said that since both Chicago
teams really stink and have stunk over the whole of baseball’s
lifetime, why do they deserve our reverence? But, the story
must now be slightly revised to account for recent events (see
picture). We can still say the Cubs stunk and continue to
stink. But, what’s up with the White Sox?
Reliable unnamed sources have told us that what really happened is that Luis Aparicio’s baseball nefesh invaded their bodies. Isn't this the only credible explanation for them winning the World Series in 2005? Furthermore, does anyone think they really could have won those first 2 games without importing a rabbinic cheerleader from amongst us? Is that not cheating a little?? Notwithstanding the Sox's recent success, the rest of the myth is still valid and repeated below, although keep in mind the correction noted for the White Sox:
The real story
Most congregants think that Temple Micah's favorite baseball team resides in Chicago. But, the truth is who cares about either the Cubs or the White Sox? They both stink - the Cubs last won a World Series in 1908; for the White Sox it was 1917 (except for the recent miracle of Luis Aparicios's nefesh). We're talking pre radio, pre TV, pre talking movies! Besides, what team had the greatest Jewish everyday player? This is the same team that has won more World Series than either Chicago team and beat the Cubs in 2 of their last 3 Series appearances in 1935 and 1945 (the third was in 1938 when they were swept by some team from NY). And its nickname suggests ferocity - not cute (Cubs) or a piece of clothing (White Sox). Yes, now for the first time it can be revealed. Temple Micah's true baseball team is the Detroit Tigers! Oh, and the greatest Jewish everyday player for you non-baseball afficionados was Hank Greenberg for whom your webmaster was named (at least his English middle name).
